I heard he'll be racing in this new car. I think Ferrari has him. 956,000 matchsticks and 6 years later, here's his car. :D

Even with that matchstick handicap, Hamilton's still gonna be faster than the Ferrari...

All we need is a well placed match and puff. :D

BTW, I'm willing to take that bet. ;)

...but isn't that's true of all Ferraris, F1 or not? :D

Only when they break in half. :D Though I do remember a GT3 recently going up in flames. :(

Does anyone find it odd that just about the whole time Raikkonen was on McLaren, he was really fast, but due to reliabilty issues, and some slightly bad luck, he was never able to get that championship... And the first year he's gone, Hamilton gets an almost bulletproof car. He only had issues I think 3 times, one was a flat tire which just happens, the other two were driver errors, one was the time he went off in the pit lane and got stuck and the other was in the final race where he hit the wrong button on the steering wheel.

How did they find so much reliabilty all of a sudden.... hmmm, Ferrari had great reliability... I'm just sayin'

I'm going to predict that Hamilton does not have the same sort of success he had last season. Although he will probably do well, he won't be battling for the championship in that last race....

Noel? :DWhat's your bet, Jon?

Why, is Noel a Hamilton fan?Anyone that almost won the greatest driving event in the world as a rookie is a safe bet. And if Hamilton had a perfectly reliable car he would have won 2007 Driver's Championship.

No doubt, he will go well this year, but I'm predicting not quite like last year. And as far as having a perfectly reliable car, it doesn't get any more perfect than last year, I don't recall him havine one mechanical breakdown, just a flat tire. The other two issues were driver error, or at least the pit lane one was, and from what I heard, the "problem" in the final race was also driver error, he got too excited and hit the wrong button on the steering wheel causing the car to go into limp mode. But the car reliability rivaled the ultra reliable Ferraris from the past seasons and far outdid the past years McLarens.

The bet was that Hamilton won't be faster than Ferrari with a matchstick car. :D

I'm obviously for Ferrari but I would love to see a season of close racing and competition. It's really no fun when the outcome is determined early. Hopefully it will come down to the last race and then Ferrari wins. :)

Ahhhh, so it's a bet about the matchstick car...LOL

Either way i'm with you Jon, it was great to see it go to the last race last season, it was almost like that was the F1 Super Bowl....

Apparently those matchsticks are faster than they look. :)

My un educated guess is that shortly Hamilton will be winning so many races that F1 will go back to the boring days when it was a Schmui fest. The kid is a freak of nature, reaction wise, and when he becomes more seasoned he will be unstopable. The only time he acted like a rookie was the last two races of the season when he went off in the pit lane of the next to last and then raced ( pushed ) when he didn't need to in the last one . Speed Channel please bring back the WRC :)
