Well this had to be the biggest GTG yet with at least 1,000 cars in attendance. I got there about 7am and still barely made it into the second lot . For those of you that know the place there were cars from Mcdonalds to Taco Bell :) I tried to capture some of the cars that were new to the event and over looked most of the usual Lambo, Ferrari and Porsche stockers in leu of more unique items. Here is a first installment of photos , I took about 80 this time .

This is the REAL deal. One of only 12 427 Competition coupes built . That leaves only 10 in the hands of other owners in the entire world. Why only 10 you ask , well he has another at home as well :) You are looking at a seven figure car here .

One of my personal favorites . I almost started one of these projects back in the day but found a classic Mini instead. This guy has apparently owned this car for over 30 years , really well done.
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a98/maxmini2002/VCR908/P8300113.jpg
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a98/maxmini2002/VCR908/P8300116.jpg
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a98/maxmini2002/VCR908/P8300115.jpg
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a98/maxmini2002/VCR908/P8300114.jpg
Apparently this car is VERY rare . Jay was so impressed that he ran over and stopped the guy as he was leaving for a chat. Perhaps one of you Alfa fans can explain ?
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a98/maxmini2002/VCR908/P8300117.jpg
This car was rather unusual LOL .
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a98/maxmini2002/VCR908/P8300119.jpg
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a98/maxmini2002/VCR908/P8300121.jpg
Jay rode up on this beauty. 10 points if you can guess the power plant.
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a98/maxmini2002/VCR908/P8300126.jpg
Jay on his way out . As he left the lot and headed to the fwy a cloud of smoke started to flow out from under the bike. If you look close in this photo you can see a thin trail of oil on the pavment . Apparently an oil line came undone and by the time he reached the entrance to the fwy the smoke cloud was big enough to attract the attention of a local authority to the point where they made a U turn and came back to investigate. There was no fire and Jay was able to roll it back down the hill and into the lot to await a tow truck. See break downs can happen to anybody LOL Oh ya the powerplant is a turbine engine from a helicopter. You would not beleive the sound !
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a98/maxmini2002/VCR908/P8300135.jpg
This is owned by my " hero " a retired general . He also owns a silver hardtop version and drives the wheels off the car at 82 years of age. A beautifl 300sl Gullwing is part of his collection as well.
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a98/maxmini2002/VCR908/P8300058.jpg

My buddy Roderick's perfect R5 Turbo. He also has a blue one in just as nice a shape. Talk about a Ralley fan he flies back to Europe just to watch !

And now for some serious muscle.
You need one of these :
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a98/maxmini2002/VCR908/P8300064.jpg
When this 1,000 whp motor will put you down the 1/4 in 7 seconds. The car is street driven as well.

Only in L.A can you have a Pro Street Camero puttering about between a wooden wheel relic and a VW micro bus.
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a98/maxmini2002/VCR908/P8300031.jpg
This is one of the cleanest Esprits I have ever seen and apparently it is a rare one .

This RS200 clone was really well done . It was only rear wheel drive where the real ones were all wheel but other than that it was a real nice deal.

No worries it is fun to share the wealth. Its tough to get good shots of the cars as they are parked side by side but at least you get the idea of what is going on . My little Olympus fe-210 works overtime trying to take it all in LOL . I am putting these up inbetween online traffic school pages :tu:
