I guess Jon's (Mazdaspeed) prediction Saturday night was on the money. As Melena and I drove across the 101 and down the 405 yesterday morning, we passed what appeared to be a bunch of cars on their way to your place: Bruce in the F-car, yellow Lotus Espirt, a bunch of P-cars, etc.

I got there at 7:20 and had to park by Taco Bell. At one point there was no parking at all! People were double parked from Taco Bell to Islands. :)

Sleeping in pays off.:D Got there at 9:00 and found a few spots by McDonald's.

Side note - It is kind of annoying to see the people that HAVE to show off their car parking in all the red zones and handicapped spaces, because they did not get there early enough. There's always a few spots in the outskirts. Park in the boonies this time, and get there early next time.

Yeah, the turnout was as amazing as I thought it would be. Unfortunately I was slightly overwhelmed and forgot to double check the settings on my camera and left it on ISO 800. Oops. I didn't catch that until I got to the canyons later. Oh well. Pics still turned out decent. I am hoping to have them posted by tonight/tomorrow. Thanks to Dusty and Jon for putting together the fun little run we did. Hope everyone is having a great Labor Day!

It really was such a great meet. Possibly one of the SCS i've been to. Jay Leno almost getting ran over on his jet bike made the day...

Only downside was seeing (and being a part of...) all the accidents on the mulholland canyons that morning. and e46 was totalled, i saw 2 bikers eat it and i had issues of my own. i for one am definitely going to chill next time i head up there.

Funny thing is that when I got back from Malibu, Jay was at VCR, waiting for a flatbed for his jetbike, he said that he brought it out in hopes of catching a yellow gt3 and with the jet bike maybe he could beat the driver of this yellow GT3.....apparently in hopes of beating this mystery person, Jay had put a bigger jet engine in and it got alittle hot.

That is the story I heard.:D

I only had one run in with a Subaru on the wrong side of the road on Stunt, other than that I thought the roads were less eventful than usual.

We had a train of 16 cars in our group with no incidents fortunately, but for the most part we're a responsible group. :cool:

There was the horror of watching MSJon trying to fit himself into my car though :eek:

When he left SCS, there was oil dripping on his rear tire, causing him to fish tail and make lots of smoke exiting the parking lot. So he stopped at the light and a cop went after him. Cop ended up escorting him back to the show as Jay walked the bike down the hill. As he was coming back into the parking lot, some impatient old man in a saturn went insane trying to exit. He started threatening Jay by inching his car forward. Did it a bunch of times almost htiting Jays leg. Eventually he just went for it and clipped the Bikes tire and jumped the curb.

Just before 10. Watching the video I have of him leaving looks like right when he pulled out something blew, the smoke was not him burning out. Then as he got to the bridge the police seemed to just stop to see if he needed any help.
