I think I've seen this person driving around Ventura Blvd with his son in a Superleggera. Sad.

That was the LP560 that I ordered and almost got, and less than a week ago, decided not to get it and he bought it. http://www.ktla.com/pages/content_landing_page/?1-Killed-in-Fiery-Lamborghini-Crash=1&blockID=45135&feedID=171

So sorry to hear about this!

RIP

Here are the pics of the car I took of it last week when I was still contemplating buying it...

David Murdocks kid was showing off to some girl in a Ferrari a few years ago and almost took her with him. What kind of person dyes their hair to match their car? My helmet doesn't match my track car. The act of driving that fast on the freeway is monumentally stupid and selfish. You might as well fire a gun into the air. Anyone who buys a New or late model Lamborghini has to be in the more money than brains club. After the Miura, 350 and 400 GTs they are all pretty much useless. The 350 and 400 GT has some of the most beautiful sheet metal ever to roll down the road.

So now you are not condoning fast driving on public roads? It seems that back in this post http://www.drivenworld.com/forums/showpost.php?p=7119&postcount=53 you weren't just condoning it, you were encouraging it. In fact, you gave directions to places to do it! And admitted to doing it yourself "I suggest that any one who tries this at speed and I've done about 140 on Lewis have some REAL driving experience and know to keep your foot in it through the turns. You can go well over 100 through the sweepers."

Ya got me. I'm a complete hypocrite BUT at least I have an understanding of driving dynamics. When I do a run on Lewis Rd I do it in broad daylight with a recon run to make sure there is little to no traffic and no sign of those in authority. What most novice drivers fail to understand is that at speed it's important to keep the car in gear and your foot on the gas in a turn. Everyone thinks they know how to use the throttle but most people haven't got a clue how to use the brakes.

this is a very tragic mishap, and no one will ever know the full details of the crash....you guys dont even know the speed he was driving, so you cant say that he was a reckless driver....maybe he had a blow out on one of his tires and lost control....RIP....

and so what if you dont paint your helmet the same color as your track car... was he so crazy to paint his hair the same color as his car?

Hair color makes no difference in this case... But, this was the lead story on the news last night, and everyone at vcr and on the boards have been talking about this... When I was at LoC they said the guy that bought it came in wearing driving shoes and racing gloves and said "I'm going to drive the shit out of it".... The guy told another person he has already had it up to 180-190 a couple times and said "I'm going to kill myself" and I hear earlier that week before he bought the car he was at AG and test drove an F car and was doing 160 on the test drive and had to be told to slow down....

So one would assume that at 2:30 in the morning, there was either drinking and/or excessive speed involved... But I guess we will never know and it doesn't discount the fact that it is a terrible tragedy...

I hope the Pink Panther likes his grandson. My condolences to the family.

I wonder how many exotic car buyers would see the futility of their purchases if they spent a weekend at Jim Hall or Willow Springs and how many lives would be saved.

regardless if you're an F1 driver, doing 140mph on a street that's not even a freeway makes you a completely reckless driver that has no concern for other people's safety. someone like that can't be respected...

So what if the guy wore a green tracksuit with green hair? He was pumped to be the first guy to bring an lp-560 to scs and took advantage of the attention he got. Even if he was an idiot driver, no one deserves to have this happen to them. I honestly feel for the guy. The whole situation definitely acted as a reality check for me.
