The SL is sure a good looking car but for that kind of money there's a lot of vehicles I'd rather own. I thought the tranny was much improved and for the weight of the car it's pretty stiff. I was really not impressed with the pwer or lack thereof, but it has a lot of weight to overcome. I'd have to say it sounds really good but that's not enough to spend that kind of money. IMHO. :)

I agree, however I do like that engine in the C and E class bodies. Lots more fun, but still big heavy cars.

From personal experience, MB shouldn’t offer the AMG 63 models in CA
6.2L motor hardly get by with 93oct, let alone California 91oct pump gas.

Is the same as the new "super SL" I've seen in a couple of magazines, or is that the Black Label I've been seeing?

Not the Black Label. Just a normal SL63 AMG.

One of my SLR clients is getting his "black 65" early in December, I will post a report as soon as I see it. I hope it is not as disapointing as the CLK black.
MB should stick to real nice street cars and leave the "super car" to those who do nothing else.
